The last name Jubie is of French origin and is particularly common in southwestern France. Historical records indicate that the name emerged in the late 16th century, primarily in the region of Bordeaux. It is believed to be a variant of the more established family Jubert, who were nobles who owned agricultural land in the region.

Jubie is still quite popular today in France. Most individuals that share the last name live in the original area in Bordeaux, and much of the surrounding area such as Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, and Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It is also scattered throughout several metropolitan areas such as Paris, Lyon, and Marseille.

Those who immigrated to the United States from France in the 19th and early 20th centuries carried their last name with them. Thus, some pockets of the Jubie family can be found in areas with established French communities such as New Orleans, Louisiana, and southeastern Massachusetts.

The name is also found in African countries such as Algeria, Senegal, and Mali. It is likely that the name arrived in these areas through French colonialism in the 19th century, where French settlers planted the last name during their stay.
